Daniel Anselment manages the HERO Public Safety Training Center.  Anselment has worked in public service since 2003 and more recently having spent five years (2014-2019) overseeing the University of Tennessee’s National Forensic Academy.  Previously, he served as a community service officer, police officer/crime scene officer with the Burnsville Police Department (11 years) while also providing his expertise to the Rice County Sheriff’s Office of the Coroner and Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner’s Office as a Medicolegal death investigator. While his roots certainly demonstrated a connection to the Twin Cities, it was his experience as a law enforcement trainer and his recent work managing several training facilities in Tennessee at the UT National Forensic Academy that ultimately won the endorsement from leaders in both Cottage Grove and Woodbury (who jointly own and operate the HERO Center). Anselment, who holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration and Leadership and a B.S. degree in law enforcement.  Anselment is the first manager of the HERO center and was instrumental in getting the facility operational and staffed.
