About the event
The National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Program's Threat Evaluation and Reporting Course (TERC) trains federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial (F/SLTT) homeland security partners on applying behavioral threat assessment approaches, as it relates to tips and leads, to prevent targeted violence in their areas of responsibility. The TERC teaches students to utilize a four-step threat assessment model to identify, investigate, assess, and manage an individual who presents behaviors of concern.
The TERC will ensure all participants are equipped with the necessary tools to empower others in their communities to identify and report potential threats. In addition, the TERC prepares threat assessment teams to minimize potential threats of targeted violence and to effectively move concerning individuals off the pathway to violence and away from an attack.
Who can attend: Law enforcement, social workers, corporate security, private security, advocates, school administrators, any multi-disciplinary group working with threat assessments, workplace, community-based and/or school violence.
