About the event
The National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Program's Basic Threat Evaluation and Reporting Course (B-TERC) trains federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial (F/SLTT) homeland security partners on applying behavioral threat assessment and management approaches, as it relates to tips and leads, to prevent targeted violence in their areas of responsibility. The B-TERC raises awareness about targeted violence, outlines the behavioral threat assessment and management framework, and builds F/SLTT capacity to identify the warning signs and risk factors associated with acts of targeted violence.
The B-TERC ensures all participants are equipped with the necessary tools to identify and report potential threats of targeted violence. In addition, the B-TERC prepares behavioral threat assessment and management teams to investigate potential threats of targeted violence and move individuals off the pathway to violence.
Who can attend: Law enforcement, social workers, corporate security, private security, advocates, school administrators, any multi-disciplinary group working with threat assessments, workplace, community-based and/or school violence.
